Infos zum Originalfahrzeug:
Der Subaru Impreza WRC ist ein Rallyeauto, das auf der Straßenversion des Subaru Impreza basiert. Seinen ersten Einsatz hatte der Impreza WRC 1993 bei der Rallye Finnland. Insgesamt errang das Fahrzeug sechs Weltmeistertitel, darunter drei Fahrertitel und drei Mechanikertitel. Der WRC 2003 feierte sein Debüt bei der Rallye Monte Carlo im Jahr 2003. Das Auto übernahm das Design der neuen Straßenversion des Impreza, die im Vorjahr eingeführt wurde, wobei besonders die veränderten Scheinwerfer auffielen. Technisch erhielt der Turbolader ein Upgrade, und der Motor wurde angepasst, um mehr Drehmoment bei niedrigeren Drehzahlen zu liefern. Die Karosserie des 2003er Modells wurde leichter und steifer. Petter Solberg fuhr den Subaru zum Weltmeistertitel, unterstützt von Tommi Mäkinen als zweitem Fahrer des Teams.
