Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 (BT-01) - Tamiya 58740 - RC Kit 1/10

A legendary vehicle for an unforgettable driving experience

The Porsche 911, an icon since its introduction in 1964, has produced many legendary models. One of them is the "Carrera RS 2.7," also known as "Nana-San Carrera." This model was specially developed for participation in the European GT Championship and was presented at the Paris Motor Show in 1972. With a six-cylinder boxer engine expanded to 2.7 liters, it offered increased performance. The optimizations included aerodynamic improvements such as the characteristic "ducktail" rear spoiler, weight reduction, and the use of differently sized tires on the front and rear axles. The racing version "Carrera RSR (2.8)" demonstrated its capabilities with victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, and the Targa Florio in 1973.

The distinctive body with the ducktail rear spoiler and flared fenders has been faithfully reproduced. It consists of a one-piece polycarbonate molded part, painted in white, while the windows are in a smoked glass look. The wheel arches have been trimmed, and the mounting holes for the body pins have been pre-drilled.

Chassis options and customizable drive configurations on the BT-01 chassis:

The model is based on the versatile 2WD chassis BT-01, which allows both front and rear-wheel drive. Both drive types offer the choice between two wheelbases, allowing different driving characteristics to be simulated. The chassis features a central frame construction that houses the battery, motor, and RC components. By exchanging the final gear and steering linkage, you can switch between front and rear-wheel drive. In rear-wheel drive mode, two motor positions are also available: front motor (FR) or rear motor (MR). These configurations provide a unique driving experience with noticeable differences in handling.

The symmetrical chassis is equipped with a double wishbone setup and friction dampers on all four wheels. Thanks to modular assemblies like "Unit-Motor Mount," "Unit-Final Gear Housing," and "Suspension Unit," assembly is simple and maintenance is efficient. The front and rear tires are of different widths and are mounted on two-piece rims, further enhancing the model's authenticity. For a realistic driving experience, the rear motor (MR) in combination with rear-wheel drive is recommended.
