A detailed plastic model kit of a tank for self-assembly.
From 1979, the Bundeswehr introduced the Leopard 2 battle tank in a quantity of 2,125 units. Starting in 1994, a total of 225 Leopard 2s were modernized and brought to the A5 standard in a first batch. These vehicles received, among other things, improved passive protection through wedge-shaped additional armor modules on the turret, an electric weapon stabilization and aiming system, a GPS vehicle navigation system, and a rear-view camera at the back.
The first Leopard 2 A5s were handed over to the troops at the end of 1995. Since 2001, these vehicles have been completely upgraded to the A6 standard, with an approximately 1.30m longer L55 cannon of 120mm. The additional development of the ammunition is intended to achieve a significantly improved first-hit probability. Another 70 tanks are equipped with improved mine protection and stored for deployment.
The model offers a choice between the A6 and A6M (additional mine protection plate). The surface structures include all details, including the delicate anti-slip coating. As a special feature, the model has a two-part chain that is bent. This provides an even more authentic appearance.
