Bell UH-1D Iroquois - Italeri 1247 - Plastic Model Kit of a Helicopter in 1:72 Scale

The Bell UH-1 Iroquois, colloquially known as "Huey," is an American multi-purpose helicopter that has been in service since the Cold War. Its first flight took place in 1956, and it was officially commissioned in 1959. The UH-1D has an overall length of 17.4 meters, a main rotor diameter of 14.6 meters, and is powered by a Lycoming T-53-L-11 engine with 1100 HP. With a maximum speed of 220 km/h, the UH-1 features a classic rotor configuration with both main and tail rotors.

Developed in the early 1950s as a transport, medevac, and multi-purpose helicopter, the UH-1 proved its worth especially during the Vietnam War, where it became a symbol of the conflict. Over time, various developments emerged, including the UH-1C version (for weapon and rocket armament), the transport version UH-1D, and the more powerful UH-1H. The modernized UH-1Y Venom is often considered a standalone model. The Huey found worldwide distribution and is still in use in many countries such as Argentina, Germany, Italy, and Japan.
