The Boeing 747, an impressive long-haul aircraft, made its maiden flight on February 9, 1969. The Jumbo Jet was equipped with Pratt & Whitney engines that delivered 19,731 kp of thrust. With a takeoff weight of over 300,000 kg, the 747 could transport up to 385 passengers over a distance of 9,136 km. Boeing planned the 747 as a series, and the 747-100 was followed by other variants with increased capacities.
