VW Golf Mk.I POLIZEI - Italeri 3666 - Plastic model kit of a car in scale 1:24

The Volkswagen Golf is an iconic vehicle developed and produced by Volkswagen in Wolfsburg. It was first introduced in the spring of 1974 and immediately became a highly successful model. The first generation (1974-1983) offered the open-minded consumer market state-of-the-art technology, including a water-cooled front engine, front-wheel drive, a robust body, and a functional yet attractive design. However, the key competitive advantage that made the Golf so successful was its excellent value for money. At the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1975, the sporty version, the Golf GTI with a 110 hp 1.600 cm³ engine, was presented. The following year, the Golf GTI went into series production and achieved remarkable sales successes in many European and non-European countries in just two months. The version used by the German police in the 1970s and early 1980s became a symbol of everyday life at that time.
