Renault 5 Turbo - Tamiya 24368 - Plastic Model Kit of a Car in 1:24 Scale

The Renault 5 was a major success since its debut in 1972, and in 1981 the Renault 5 Turbo was specifically introduced for rallying. The rear seats were removed and replaced by a centrally mounted 1.4-liter turbo engine with 160 HP, allowing a top speed of 200 km/h and a 0-400m time of just 15 seconds. In addition to the engine, the 5 Turbo received double wishbone suspension, ventilated brake discs, and a revised body with distinctive fender flares. Through the use of aluminum and plastic, the vehicle weighed only 910 kg. Inside, the car offered a dashboard with ten instruments and a leather-accented interior. The Renault 5 Turbo proved its capabilities with a victory at its debut at the 1981 Monte Carlo Rally and successfully participated in many other events.
