B.M.W. 320 Gr.5 - Italeri 3626 - Plastic Model Kit of a Racing Car in 1:24 Scale

In 1976, the FIA introduced a new section of Group 5 as part of the motorsport competition, specifically designed for "special" series cars. The new regulations allowed for a body width similar to the series production, but larger fenders could be added to benefit from expanded track widths and larger tires. BMW participated with a specialized version of its new flagship model, the E21 "320", in Group 5. For this competition, an aerodynamic profile was developed that incorporated the large fenders, and the vehicle was equipped with a powerful 300-horsepower engine. The car proved to be extremely successful, both as a racing vehicle for the official BMW team and as a development platform for aspiring young drivers.
